Sochi Olympics

The last two weeks in Sochi, Russia the XXII Winter Olympics were held. Many upsets and heartbreaks took place during these Olympics. Two of the most shocking upsets were in the hockey games and one of the snowboarding events. Popular snowboarder Shaun White for the United States of America did not medal in his event. It was a shocking and disappointing chain of events. Another shocking moment was the USA and also Russian men's hockey team did not medal. The US lost to Canada 1-0 in the qualifying gold medal round, and then lost to Team Finland in the bronze medal match. Canada took home the gold medal and Sweden came in second winning the silver. By the end of the Olympics, Team Russia came out with the most gold medals and also most medals combined. Although the results were no in the US's favor, the United States of America are still the best country in the world.

Flappy Bird Pulled?

Flappy Bird created Nyguen is pulling the popular smartphone app from the Apple Store. Many people are confused as to why this money making game is being deleted out of the blue. This creator made $50,000 a day and a whopping number of 50 Million smartphone users have downloaded this addictive app. A rumor from several sources claims that the creator Nyguen is "fed up" and "cannot handle all the popularity" that his popular app has brought to him. My opinion is that the creator could not handle all of his haters and plus possibly could be under a lawsuit because the new app resembles a world famous popular game known as Mario Bros. The game has the same exact green tubes and the famous clouds background. This creator is crazy to pull this app because of how much money it produced him. It will be interesting to see what news comes out as to why Nyguen deleted the app.

Media Day-Superbowl Commercials

During the Superbowl besides the game itself which the Seattle Seahawks demolished the Denver Broncos 43-8, a popular topic from Sunday was the commercials. Although it was a slow start for the commercials, before the end of the game, a world popular Budweiser commercial came on. It was about a puppy who befriends a horse. This puppy gets adopted and while the new owner is driving away, the horse chases the car and takes the puppy back. At the end of the commercial, the puppy is walking in front of a stampede of horses. Along with this commercial, a Doritos commercial was a popular favorite. This commercial started off with two young boys telling their mom they were not going to help with the groceries. Their mom showed a bag of Doritos and the kids faces were excited. The older brother tapped the little brothers head and chased for the Doritos bag, once the older brother got the bag he looked back and saw his brother riding their dog and stole the bag of Doritos with his lasso. Those were the two best Superbowl XLVIII commercials.
